EXECUTIVE PROCLAMATION
Rapid City, South Dakota
Office of the Mayor
Whereas: The Black Hills Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia Syndrome Support Group will be celebrating their tenth anniversary in January 2005 ; and
Whereas: This group of people shares a common bond of concerns, feelings, experiences, strengths and wisdom. They help to provide educational materials to members and families with CFS/FMS, raise public awareness, network with members and assist in searching for grant monies to help fund countrywide programs ; and
Whereas: The Black Hills Chapter of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - Fibromyalgia Syndrome Support Group provide an opportunity for citizens of the community to come together to share personal experiences, thoughts and bring hope to one another by dealing in a positive manner with this complex illness.
Now Therefore I, Jim Shaw, Mayor of Rapid City, South Dakota do hereby proclaim the month of January, 2005 as Black Hills CFS/FMS Month. This dedicated group of individuals has provided ten years of hope, education and support to our community. I encourage our citizens to take this opportunity to recognize this support group for all the positive benefits they have provided to those afflicted with CFS/FMS.
